Chicken momos with wheat flour

About the recipe:

Momos are tasty and yummy dumplings originally from Nepal. The outer covering is made using all purpose flour or maida, but I ve used wheat flour to make it more healthy. Wheat flour has more fibre content which makes it a healthier choice with no compromise on the taste.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Minced chicken – 1 cup
  • Onion chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Ginger chopped – 1 spoon
  • Garlic chopped – 1 spoon
  • Cabbage chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Carrot chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Butter – 3 spoons
  • Chili powder – 1/2 spoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 spoons

NB:

All the above mentioned vegetables should be chopped finely into bit size pieces.

Method:

  • Add a pinch of salt and oil to the wheat flour. Mix with water and form a smooth dough and leave it aside for 15 mins
  • For the stuffing add the veggies chopped, egg, butter, chili powder, pepper powder, salt to the minced chicken and mix until well combined.
  • Now roll the dough into a circular shape and form four pleats to make it like a bowl. All a spoon full of the stuffing and seal the dumpling.
  • Now place the sealed dumplings in a steamer for 15 mins.
  • Serve the hot momos with tomato or chili sauce and a bowl of soup.
