Fruit and nut oatmeal porridge


About the recipe:

Oats are rich in soluble fiber. Bananas are rich in potassium, vitamin C and B6. Almonds are rich in Magnesium and saturated fat. Raisins are rich in potassium and dietary fiber. All these combined in a tasty breakfast will give you a wholesome meal to kick start the day with energy.


  • Oats – 1 cup
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Banana sliced – 1
  • Sugar/honey – 1 spoon
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Almonds chopped – 5
  • Raisins – 5


Oats can be used as whole oats or quick cooking oats. Use whole oats to have a crunchy texture and use quick cooking oats to get a porridge consistency.


  • Add the oats, water, milk, pinch of salt, sugar or honey and boil the mixture till porridge consistency is reached.
  • Allow the mixture to cool. Add chopped almonds, raisins and sliced banana to the porridge. Enjoy a tasty and healthy fruit and nut oatmeal porridge.
