Mushroom Curry

Mushrooms are a great source of Vitamin B and have low calorific value.This tasty mushroom curry can be had with any flat bread. Slow cooked mushrooms are very tasty and can be tasty treat to the vegans.


  • Mushrooms – 1 cup
  • Onion sliced – 1 cup
  • Garlic chopped – 2 spoons
  • Cumin seeds – 1 spoon
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 spoon
  • Chili powder – 2 spoons
  • Coriander powder – 1 spoon
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 spoon
  • Garam masala – 1/2 spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil


  • Put oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Then add chopped garlic and sliced onion. Add salt and turmeric and fry till the onions turn light brown.
  • Now add beaten curd and add chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and mix well.
  • Then add the mushrooms and cook in slow flame with the lid covered for 20 minutes. Mix occasionally.  Slow cooking is the key here. Mushrooms tend to get rubbery if its cooked in high flame.
  • After 20 mins cook the gravy in high flame till the required consistency is reached. Tasty spicy mushroom curry is ready.
