Veg Chicken Couscous


About the recipe:

Couscous is a North African dish usually served with a stew. Here is my healthy and tasty twist to this recipe.


  • Couscous – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • Butter – 1 spoon
  • Black pepper- 1 spoon
  • Cumin – 1 spoon
  • Beans chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Carrot chopped -1/2 cup
  • Garlic chopped – 2 spoons
  • Chicken breast cut into small pieces – 1 cup
  • Olive oil – 2 spoons
  • Tomato sauce – 1 spoon
  • Salt to taste


  • Boil the water with a pinch of salt and butter. When the water is boiling hot add it to the couscous and keep it aside till the couscous puffs up. You might require a little more or little less water depending on the type of couscous.
  • Add oil to the pan. When the oil is hot add cumin and garlic and saute. Then add the veggies and chicken and cook is slow flame till all the ingredients are cooked well.
  • Now add salt to taste, coarsely ground pepper and tomato sauce and saute. Add the puffed up couscous to the mixture and mix well. Hot and tasty Veg Chicken Couscous is ready.
